This high profile scheme to provide a new coach station for Chesterfield was built for Chesterfield Borough Council.
The works involved the construction of a reinforced concrete retaining wall clad with locally sourced masonry, supporting the raft foundation for the main building. The building superstructure consisting of a timber frame, clad with brickwork and timber panelling was designed incorporating ‘green’ materials where possible, with natural ventilation using a wind catcher system, sheep’s wool insulation and solar panels providing a portion of the building running costs.
Internally finished to a high standard using custom made joinery furniture the project was completed on schedule and within budget.
